全球首座太空旅遊中心動工　明年載人上太空

（路透鳳凰城19日電）美國新墨西哥州（NewMexico）州長李察遜（Bill Richardson）今天主持「美國太空中心」（Spaceport America）開工儀式。這是全球首座星際商業旅遊中心，載送付費乘客上太空。

　　斥資1億9800萬美元的太空中心，由新墨西哥州政府資助，座落在特拉奇康西昆西斯鎮（Truth orConsequences）近郊的遙遠沙漠山脈中。

　　英國企業大亨布朗森（Richard Branson）旗下的太空旅遊公司「維京銀河公司」（Virgin Galactic）將利用這座設施，把旅客送入次軌道太空，每趟旅程定價20萬美元。

　　美國太空中心表示，將先建設跑道，今年稍後再打造航廈與機棚。

　　維京銀河公司出資3億美元，開發新式太空發射系統，於太空中心開幕後啟用。

　　啟用之後，特製飛機將搭載太空船，飛行到1萬5240公尺高空，然後將太空船釋放。而太空船則將依照設計，藉著火箭動力衝入次軌道太空中。

　　維京銀河公司總裁懷特洪（Will Whitehorn）表示，該公司已接受約300名訂位，計畫兩年內開始運作。
